The Adobe Digital Studio is an open-access learning space dedicated to providing students with digital production skills and the technology to use them. Our mission is to ensure the digital literacy of our students in order to guarantee their success both in the classroom and on the job market.

The Studio is outfitted with a soundproof audio production studio, a video production studio, collaborative workstations, high-resolution scanners, and the mammoth Behance wall, which serves as a multi-faceted presentation from both local and online projects.
Highly-trained UPic Adobe Interns are ready to help visitors with any questions they may have about software or equipment. Staff members come from various fields of study, to realize the vision of a next-generation education where all disciplines expect creativity.
Work on projects in comfortable couches around 48-inch monitors. With the Studio’s focus on working together, nearly every piece of technology and furniture can move around the space—which also features power hubs and Ethernet across the floor to enhance mobility.

Clemson – Adobe Partnership

The opening of the Adobe Digital Studio moves Clemson University forward as a flagship institution for developing new applications for digital publishing and content creation.

In the spring of 2014, Clemson became the first university in the country to allow all students, faculty and staff full use of the Adobe Creative Cloud. The new studio gives the Clemson community a place to work together, using technology powered by the entire Adobe Creative Cloud and Digital Publishing Tools.

The Studio features a soundproof audio production studio, a video production studio, collaborative workstations, a high-resolution scanner and a nine-display Behance wall that serves as a focal point for inspiration. The Behance wall—one of only three in the country and the only one outside of Adobe headquarters—streams projects from Adobe Behance based on the search criterion (ex., “oceans” will display other “ocean” tagged projects and distribute them across the display).

Recording studios on either end bookend a large, open space where comfortable chairs circle tables and 48-inch monitors. The “Creativity Bar” begins at the entrance and extends through the length of the Studio to create an easily accessible area where student interns help users refine their ideas and assist with technology.

The Studio represents the next, physical level of Clemson’s partnership with Adobe. In 2014, Clemson became the only school in the country to allow all students, all faculty and all staff full use of the Adobe Creative Cloud. With the Studio, both faculty and students have a space where they can collaboratively work on projects, learn from one another’s projects, and inject more creativity into the curriculum, Clemson and Adobe together take another step forward for 21st century education.

The Video Production Studio features a Blackmagic 4K Cinema Camera, Blackmagic H.264 Converter and Smith-Victor fluorescent light banks. Green screens and Adobe’s powerful software allow for post-production special effects as well. The video production studio uses an online reservation system. Students, Faculty, and Staff with a Clemson University login can sign up to use these facilities at clemson.edu/libraries and must be reserved online at least 24 hours in advance. The video production studio is available for two-hour blocks.

The Audio Production Studio features the Apogee Digital Quartet, RØDE and Audio Technica microphones and Sennheiser headphones. The audio production studio uses an online reservation system and Students, Faculty, and Staff with a Clemson University login can sign up to use the facility at clemson.edu/libraries. The studio must be reserved online at least 24 hours in advance and is available for two-hour blocks, with two-hour blocks available upon request.
